F**ked Up Food - 2008

8×10 paper - image size approx. 5×7.5
4 color, hand-pulled screen-print in an edition of 70

Included in “a la Cart” group show curated by Leia Bell - at Signed and Numbered in Salt Lake City, UT, opening (today) June 20. If you are unfamiliar with this show, it is a mini-print show themed on food, which is also a print exchange: each artist gets one of each of 50 other artists’ prints.

Anyway, my print is a 4 color, hand-pulled screen-print in an edition of 70. 55 went to the show/exchange, so I have only a few left for public sale.

new poster

mahjongg poster

so I finally printed my first poster of 2008 today. it’s for a pretty uniquely/unusually awesome show for Lincoln NE. Mahjongg (Chicago), These Are Powers (New York), Calvin Johnson (K Records), and The Show is the Rainbow (Darren rocks). At Box Awesome. It’s going to be something.

3 color screenprint in my trade-secret faked-process-color process on bleached whale skins.

BLOODCOW

bloodcowhere is the Bloodcow “poster” I designed for their show this Saturday at Box Awesome. I had originally set out to screenprint something for them but ran out of time. So color copies are the next logical step, right?

so you want to be a rock and roll star?

well you need a completely ridiculous poster for your Killigans show.

OK- so, yeah, I am not 100% sure why I decided on this specific composition. I also know that the skull and proportion and lighting are off. I don’t have a skull or a sword or a bone. Big deal. It looks rock and roll. It also looks pretty similar to a Zorlac skateboard from the 80’s. That’s cool. Whatever. I’m thinking about doing a CMYK screenprint. We’ll see.

new poster - art show update

killigans - new yearsI made a poster for our New Year’s Eve show at Duffy’s. I think this is only the 2nd poster I printed this year. Weird. It’s a neon yellow, hot pink, neon blue print with skulls in yellow, another pattern in pink, and the text in blue. These are going up around town.

I’m working on a bunch of paintings for the show. I will probably print a poster for it this weekend, and get handbills made and the like. I am starting to become a little concerned about presentation, as I don’t have frames or anything. I will be hitting the after-xmas sales for bonus buys!

Clerks / New Poster

Clerks II was not that good. I was a little disappointed.

Dante and Randal sucked. Rosario Dawson was cute but sucked. Jay and silent Bob sucked.

in fact the only part I laughed at was new character kid talking about his girlfriend’s pussy troll. everything else was dumb.

in other news: I designed a poster for an upcoming show:

Tossers Killigans Ottos

wacom part deux

YESSSSSS it came today, and it really is a real Wacom Intuos3 4×6 pen-tablet. it looks thusly:

Wacom-Intuos3-4x6.jpg

I will plug it in and mess with it after work. I have read a few reviews and everyone says it’s better than the Graphire and that it has more control and “feels” more like a pen. We shall see.
